Ringmaster Staffordshire Bull Terriers

My good friend Colin Hurwitz is set to bring in an exciting new red pup from the UK to South Africa during January 2010. Colin made contact with Clare Patterson earlier during 2009 and Clare kindly undertook to assist Colin with a pup from the same breeding that produced the wonderful Penshannel Wicked William (Billy).

I had the privilege of viewing this young dog during our recent visit to the UK and came away very pleased at the prospect of a pup with the same breeding coming to South Africa. The litter consisting of 2 males and 1 bitch was born on 5 October 2009. It is anticipated that in the longer term, the Penshannel pup will go on to be integrated successfully with the breeding of our Staffords here, and generate further excitement and interest (particularly, but not exclusively, in respect of the reds).

Hopefully, other Stafford enthusiasts will also use the current window of opportunity provided by relative Rand strength to contemplate bringing in judiciously selected imports that could further assist in the breed’s development in South Africa.
